The Liberty Series was created to take the place of the 1938 Presidential series. It's a collection of patriotic stamps that pays tribute to those who defended freedom in the history of the United States. The stamps highlight important people from the 18th century, like heroes and leaders from the Revolutionary War such as Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Hamilton, Henry, Jay, and Revere.
The 19th century is represented by leaders like Monroe, Lincoln, Lee, Harrison, and Susan B. Anthony. Moving into the 20th century, the stamps feature figures such as Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and General Pershing.
The Liberty Series also includes stamps showcasing significant places in America's democratic history, like Bunker Hill, Independence Hall, and the Alamo.
