About the 1928 Redeemable in Gold Notes
Series 1928 paper currency is unique because they are the last bank notes to be redeemable in gold. They read "Redeemable In Gold On Demand At the United States Treasury, Or In Gold Or Lawful Money At Any Federal Reserve Bank." Federal Reserve notes have not been redeemable in gold since January 30, 1934. Also 1928 notes never had the motto "In God We Trust" on them.
